Video surveillance from the scene showed Tanner walked with the other two males around the corner. As they neared the victim’s car, Tanner spoke to the other two, then went ahead of them, looked into the passenger seat of the car, and upon seeing the lone female driver, signaled the other two males to begin the carjacking.

Upon arriving at the address on Powell, the suspect opened his passenger door and pretended to give the victim the gas money. At that time, three additional suspects surrounded the victim’s car. As the victim fled on foot, one suspect fired multiple shots at the victim. Cole, Brown and Gipson were positively identified by the victim from a photo line-up.

Subsequently, Douglas and his co-conspirator stole the victim’s vehicle and attempted to flee area. The victim immediately notified nearby security guards that he had been robbed and identified the stolen vehicle. Security guards quickly approached the vehicle with weapons drawn and ordered Douglas to stop.
